Curation App: Pearltrees

If you are an iPad or iPhone user, you may be interested in an app for content curation called “Pearltrees.” Curation requires information, so it’s organization that’s often the hardest part. Luckily, Pearltrees makes organization easy.

How does it work?

Aptly named, Pearltrees splits information into smaller “pearls,” making the overall shape of content resemble a tree. Start with a big idea and attach links, photos, videos, etc. to that original bubble.

Let’s say our group decides to use Pearltrees to share information with each other. Here’s what it might look like in the beginning:Image

As we acquire more sources, we simply attach them to the “Group Recommendations” pearl.

Pearls also open right there on the Pearltrees application or website (note: it can be accessed online, too). It winds up looking like this: Image
